Who We Are

Bathampton Meadows are a wide expanse of grassland, part flood plain, part low terrace, mostly grazing, but also containing a nature reserve, set in the bottom of the Avon Valley. They are popular for recreation and flank the River Avon as it runs into the City of Bath from the east, forming an important finger of countryside leading into the heart of the city.

The Bathampton Meadows Alliance is a local community affiliation of individuals and representatives of other bodies and groups including Parish Councils and pressure groups. It is a not for profit and non-political group. We came together after 80 people spoke out against plans for a 1400-space park and ride car park on Bathampton Meadows at the B&NES full council meeting of November 2015. We have worked as a voluntary group ever since and welcome new members.
